Lately I’ve been pretty selective on how I spend my money. That means I’m thinking twice , maybe even three of four times before I buy a new piece to add to my wardrobe. Here’s the one question I ask myself before I add something to my shopping cart- How many ways can I style it? If I get stumped and can only think of one way to wear it, then it’s a NO for me. If my brain is racing and the outfit ideas are flowing, it’s an easy yes. That’s an indicator I can make that piece work for me and in turn get a return on my spending. It also maximizes my wardrobe. Let me show you how I made this $3.99 gingham dress work for me triple time!
Old Faithful:
I love a good dress and it made it easy to fall in love with this number. The dress features a romantic off the shoulder neckline and flirty ruffle hemline. I paired the black and white gingham dress with a pair of black JustFab ankle strap sandals and a black chain strapped purse. Easy, breezy, right?
Skirt Around:
I very rarely wear skirts. I buy them but I almost never wear them. Crazy, I know. I surprised myself when I turned my dress into a skirt. I threw on a black and white “Oh La La “ T-shirt gifted to me by fellow blogger “Jemappellegorjess.” How sweet? It was the perfect piece to compliment my dress turned skirt. White converse sneakers finished the vibe I was searching for and successfully found!
Pants Please:
If I rarely wear skirts then I hardly EVER wear pants. I don’t know. I can’t understand it either, but this dress got me out of my comfort zone. This time I wore the dress as a tunic and teamed it with black trousers. Leopard print sandals, a popping pink chain purse, and a smile punctuated the look!
Tell me which look was your favorite? I loved the skirt and “Oh La La ” tee!
You will definitely love this shopping guide if gingham is your favorite summer print. I found tons of gingham dresses just waiting to be remixed helping you maximize your wardrobe.
Fashionably yours,
