I love a good watch, a simple neck piece, and even a trendy bag. But when it comes to my can’t live without accessory, sunglasses top that list. A fabulous pair of sunnies will elevate your look and change the entire vibe. From classic to cat eye , the styles are endless and I can’t get enough.
This love affair with sunglasses started back in high school. I was in my senior year and I was still sorting out my college choices. So, my mom took me to visit Clark Atlanta University. The campus was vibrant and the yard was popping. There were tons of vendors set up and I convinced my mama to buy me a pair of knock off Chanel sunglasses that I thought were real at the time. You couldn’t tell me NOTHING! I knew I was fly. Just like that, those sunglasses changed my vibe and took my look up a notch. Since then I’ve been hooked.
When it comes to styles, I lean towards classic choices or sunnies that give a vintage vibe. I love square and cat-eye shaped frames. I’m flexible on colors. I typically stick with black, gold or tortoise frames. And of course I look for inexpensive options. I’ve lost too many pairs of shades to spend a grip on sunglasses. So, the max I will pay is about $50.
I have quite the collection of sunglasses, but I tend to wear one pair more than any other. These oversized glitter square frames I found at ASOS four years ago are my favorite. I think I paid $20 and I’ve certainly gotten my wear out of these shades. Can you blame me though? If these glitter retro frames aren’t your vibe, you can’t go wrong with these five styles options.
