It’s Monday and Hurricane Irma is wrecking shop throughout the Southeast. I’m preparing to go in to the newsroom and provide coverage to viewers in Birmingham since we’re experiencing affects of the storm here. Preparing for the day, I’m reflecting on my very busy life and realize I need to work on a few things. I’m a mentor. I volunteer. I’ve joined a new church group. I’m blogging. I work two jobs. And I try to have a small social life. With all of this of my plate , I need to get my priorities in line. To help me I need to tackle time management.
This is a huge deal for me and it’s not going to happen overnight, but I’m making small steps. For starters I’m writing all my appointments and planned engagements down. I’ve set reminders for each event to make sure I don’t miss an event.
I’m only scheduling events that mean something to me. My time is limited and valuable so I’m only giving it to people I love and organizations I stand behind and support.
From volunteering and mentoring to working two jobs, I’m seriously all over the place. I’m hoping these small steps will help.
Now to My Look
There’s no secret I love a good kimono. It’s been my summer staple and I hope to sneak them into my fall and winter wardrobes.
I love them because it instantly takes your look up a notch. Here, I went for an all white vibe. I wore white skinny jeans from TJ Maxx that I paired with a Forever 21 v-neck white bodysuit.
Adding all the flare to the look though, was the floral kimono I picked up from Shein.com for $24. Black beaded ankle strap sandals finished my look.
What’s your summer staple that you plan to take to the next season?
