I’m a frugal fashionista. I love deals, discounts, sales, and any other way I can possibly save a coin. Simply put I like to style for the low and that’s why this fashion-forward frugal shopper LIVES for retailers like Target. I would literally visit two to three Target stores a week in Rochester. Every now and then I would pick up household goods, but I was truly there for the bomb pieces in the women’s department. Seriously, at one point my work wardrobe was strictly Target originals. Of those two years going rack to rack, I’ve never noticed the brand “Fashion Union.” It wasn’t until moving back to Bama that I discovered this hip and very affordable brand. OMG people! I. Love. It. And of course I had to add a few pieces to my cart. Here’s what I picked up.
I grabbed this nautical themed white and navy striped crop top which features a side lace up design. I’m not kidding, I swear Joseline Hernandez was wearing this top in last week’s episode of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. It’s my guilty pleasure. Don’t judge.
I teamed my striped crop top with a navy blue button front A-line skirt. The skirt picked up a lot of lent and wrinkled quickly. I can deal with the lent, because a good lent brush will knock it right out. It’s the wrinkles that had me concerned, but I don’t think it was too noticeable. What are your thoughts?
My favorite summer heels punctuated my look. I added a pop of red with my Public Desire ‘Vera’ lace up heels.
After doing some digging, I discovered Fashion Union is UK based brand and sold at retailers like ASOS and Lipsy. com. Not quite sure how long Target has carried this brand, but it’s not a new deal. It’s only new to me.
I would describe Fashion Union as trendy. It’s a cool mix between Target‘s youthful brand Xhilaration and it’s more sophisticated Mossimo brand.Pieces are reasonably priced, ranging anywhere from $20 to $65.
When it comes to the fit, it’s kind of tricky. I’m a size 4. I usually pick up a small in Xhilaration brand and an extra small in Mossimo. I decided on a small for this skirt and crop top. I could have went down a size in the skirt. I like the fit of the top.
What are your thoughts on the look?
