I’ve been on the hunt for a lemon yellow sheath dress for longer than I like to admit. I can find everything for everyone else, but I can’t seem to find the perfect dress in my price range and with the fit I desire. I got close though. This week I stumbled on a super cute >yellow shift dress from Forever 21. No, it wasn’t quite the yellow I was looking for but for the moment this mustard color answered the call.
The mustard color looks great against my brown skin so I’m actually winning here. After snagging the dress I went online and I read a lot of negative reviews about the dress. The fit of the dress seems to be the biggest complaint. For me, the dress wasn’t loose or snug. It was a comfortable feel and fit. I will say this, some type of undergarment like a Spanx or slip is required. Panty lines are very visible in this dress.
The shift dress features textured tonal stripes and a small silver zipper in the back. The stripes are subtle. It takes getting close up on the dress to notice.
I bought the dress with my work wardrobe in mind and I think it was perfect for the workplace. Keep in mind I don’t work in a traditional office setting. I’m a TV news reporter and in my world color and fit is everything.
Instead of nude heels I work black Just Fab “Florence” sandals. I thought I would look like a bubble bee but it turned out nice.
