Sometimes it’s a surprise text, a sweet gesture from a stranger , or even something as simple as me nailing my at-home manicure that brings a smile to my face. As of late it’s the small things that are bringing the most joy to my life. But in this case , my small burst of happiness came in a big package. This over sized faux fur hat is bringing me unexplainable joy. Crazy , right? It’s just a hat gurl, but I light up every time I wear it. .
So here’s the back story. I decided to go thrifting one Tuesday in January ( I actually go thrifting every Tuesday) and spotted this black puffy hat peeking thru a sea of beanies and scarves.
I picked the hat up and tried it on. My first thought was, “this hat is ugly, but it’s still so cute.” I know it’s an oxymoron but it’s true.
The hat is pretty obnoxious but I couldn’t leave it at the store. I was drawn to it and that bad boy was coming home with me.
After a quick wash I was ready to wear to work. It’s fashionable and functional. Its a warm winter accessory and it’s definitely coming in handy during the subzero temperatures.
It still amazes me this little hat can make me smile the way it has. I’m not kidding the hat must have been dipped in sparkles and chocolate. Those are the only two things that can’t make me smile like this.
Sweeties, stop and think of the small things that have brought joy over the last month. Sometimes it’s the small things that matter most.
