Style Guide: The Smock Dress is a Summer Staple and The Perfect Work from Home Piece

It’s day 50-11 for all you fab women working from home. Fortunately and unfortunately, I’ve been working in the field. So, finding something cute to wear to work is still a daily task. But one of the summer’s hottest trends is making things easier for some of you ladies who work from home. The smock dress is seriously having a fashion moment and I’m here for it! It’s effortless , it’s comfortable, and there are several budget friendly options.

Easy, Breezy:

The last thing you want to do is worry about what you’re going to wear when you work from home. You’re already the tech person setting up work space, the teacher getting your kids ready for remote learning, and getting prepared for your full schedule of Zoom Meetings. So, let’s make life easy with a smock dress. It offers feminine touches with ruffles and floral prints. You’re showing up giving all the girly-girl vibes. Plus, it’s packing style with one single piece. Talk about effortless. You’re literally slipping on a dress and THAT’S IT!

Call Me Comfortable Cathy:

I’m at that age wear comfort will trump cute on most days. Fortunately, with the smock dress you get both in one. Most smock dresses are light and airy. The material isn’t heavy and the piece isn’t constricting on your body. Y’all, my mama called it a nightgown dress. That’s gives you a reference point on the comfort level.

Save Me Money Honey:

I love to stay on trend and budget. The smock dress affords me both and that’s because there are gazillion retailers selling it. I’ve found smock dresses in an array of colors and prints from Asos , Target, Boohoo, and Zara. All of these dresses are reasonably priced making it one of my favorite trends this season. You’ll love the smock dress if budget friendly is your jam.

My smock dress is from Boohoo. I paid $20 for it. It comes in two color ways and it boasts this cute paisley print. It also features my feminine touches like the ruffle hemline and neckline. The mock neck and puffy sleeve give a nod to past. I paired the dress with my favorite rose gold heels that I scored from Asos two years ago for $16. A bright pink chain purse finished my look.

Are you sold on the smock dress? Do you own one already? Let me know in the comments. Meanwhile grab my exact dress here and shop more options below. I found you more than 60 smock dresses for $60 or less and emphasis on LESS!

Fashionably yours,
Jamiese
