Sweeties,
I know nothing about golf, but I found myself having a great time Tuesday when I made my way down to the Wegmans LPGA Championship Practice Round in Pittsford, NY at the Monroe Golf Club. Pittsford is an upscale suburb of Rochester , NY. The town has also played home to the LPGA for many years. Now that we’re down with the geography and history lesson, here’s more about my fun filled day.
When I stepped off the shuttle bus (a luxury limo style bus) I walked through the Expo building where there were tons of free products and food.
Some of my favorites was a Healthy Choice Raspberry Greek Frozen Yogurt, TOSTITOS ARTISAN RECIPES Baked Three Cheese Queso Flavored Tortilla Chips, and Town House Pretzel Thins in parmesan cheese and herbs. I also tried peaches from Williamson Farm.
As for the products, I walked a way with two magazines, samples of Colgate Total Whitening toothpaste, Glad Odor Shield garbage bags, Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion, Clean & Clear deep action cream cleanser , and Clean & Clear morning burst hydrating gel moisturizer.
After loading down my bag with goodies, I was ready to hit the greens. First off , it rained all day so I had to throw on a hat and carry an umbrella. But the rain wasn’t going to detour me.
Originally I was supposed to meet a few people from work, but I showed up late so I had to enjoy the day and the greens by myself.
Again, I’m clueless when it comes to golf so I figured I wouldn’t have a go time. I mean who was I going to talk to, who was going to answer my questions about the game?
Luckily I meet someone who was a passionate golf fan and he introduced me to some of the best players in women’s golf.
I met Inbee Park, the defending LPGA Championship winner.
I also met 17-year old golf phenom Lydia Ko.
The world’s best golf instructor, David Leadbetter was also on the greens working with players.
I also saw Stacey Lewis on the driving range and putting greens.
My host for the day was so excited to meet these players and all the while I have this confused look on my face. Needless to say I had to google everyone I met.
He would constantly ask,” Are you not bored?” My answer was no, “I’m enjoying myself.” This was a new experience for me and I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried a new sport and took this on alone.
Sweeties, are you golf fans? Are you stepping out of your comfort zone? Tell me all about in the comments.
