We’re a couple a days from the actual start of summer, but it already feels like the season is in full swing. It’s like a sauna outside. Because the sun is torturing us right now, most of us would avoid wearing dark clothing. Black would be out of the question, right? Wrong. Hear me out. Sometimes wearing this hue during the hottest time of the year could heat up the fashion streets. Here’s how you can still wear your black pieces this season.
For me I keep it light. I avoid heavy pieces and lean towards items that are breathable. Try a linen dress or jumpsuit. If I can, I’m reaching for pieces that are sleeveless and flowy. Think flowy maxi dresses and skirts.
Enough how to, let me show you how it can be done.
For me I opted for an asymmetrical dress with a flirty fish tail hemline and a side slit. The sleeve also featured a slight ruffle design, but nothing overbearing.
I complimented the look with a black fascinator hat that I scored from my local beauty supply store. I still can’t believe I found this hat in aisle sandwiched between hair glue and edge tamer.
For a major pop of glam I added SaseeChic’s “Carissa” Chandelier Dangle Statement Earrings to my look. The jewel tone breaks up the monochromatic theme with a hint of color.
Black Zara ankle strap sandals finished the look.
