It’s Wednesday and I’m still in recovery mode after experiencing the best homecoming ever. I celebrated by 10 year class reunion at Tuskegee University over the weekend and I’m still paying for it. I plan to give a complete recap really soon. In the meantime let’s talk work wear as I’m holding on by a thread this work week. Typically I stay away from all black looks because the color doesn’t show well on television, but from time to time I’ll inject the dark hue into my newsroom look. Here are two recent occasions where I slayed in all black at the work place.
Who doesn’t love a peplum dress? It hides a bulging belly and it’s an added detail to what could sometimes be a boring dress. I scored this black and white peplum dress at Sear’s during its crazy-amazing sale a few weeks ago. The dress was on sale for $19 , but cheaper now at $4.99 ( only an XL available online).
The dress made of scuba material features a classy peplum waist, with a colorblock design. The figure-flattering number falls right at your knees making it ideal for the office or any dressy occasion.
This second black dress may be one of my favorites. It’s a Worthington dress I snagged from J.C. Penney. I absolutely love the dress for a number reasons, including these silver button embellishments. So cute!
The sleeveless dress also features a mock neck and a pleated skirt. The pleats are in the back and the skirt features a traditional straight design in the front. I paired my sheath dress with hot pink Betsey Johnson bow sandals and a matching pink lip.
How do you wear black to the office? Are you traditional or switch things up? Let me know in the comments.
