Summer isn’t a summer until you’ve tackle the five S’s of the season, which include shorts, sandals, swimwear , sunscreen and sunglasses. For me summer sunnies are by far the staple of the season and one of my all time can’t live without items. For one, the sun really does irritate my eyes. Plus, sunglasses have become insanely stylish, making it my go-to accessory. I’ve actually started quite the collection, which features some of this year’s biggest sunglasses trends. Check out five of my favorite frames and let me know which shades are winning all summer 16.
Round Frame Sunglasses
Round frame Sunglasses are having a major moment, especially after Queen B was spotted in pair following the surprise drop of her hit single “Formation.”
The round silhouette has a retro vibe that playful and carefree. The circular sunnies compliments heart, oval, and square shaped faces best.
Cat-Eye Frame Sunglasses
There’s nothing basic about a pair of cat-eye sunnies. It’s sexy and timeless. What’s so hot about the cat eye sunglasses this year is the style of the frames. For me I picked a thicker frame that’s also a matte black. The gold accent makes the sleek silhouette come to life!
Thick Square Frame Sunglasses
Looking to make a statement? Reach for your wider, chunkier frames. For added pizazz try a bold color or print like this fun take on the classic tortoiseshell design.
Aviators 2.0
Aviators are a classic, but the retro shades got a cool new makeover. This season it’s all about the ultra bright and colorful lenses.
From pink and yellow tones to beautiful blue hue, these sunnies will surely brighten up your selfie game this summer.
Mirrored and Ombré Effect Lenses
Mirror tint sunglasses were the official shades of summer 2015 , but it appears it’s still having its moment but in a retooled kind of way. While the tinted colors are the same the silhouettes of the frames have been revamped.
If bright blue tint or orange- pink isn’t your thing maybe the ombré lenses might make your day. The lenses go from dark to light.
I’ve recently purchased three new pair of shades last week and they should be here soon.
I ordered these Boohoo Tia Cut Out Metal Frames , which are just as trendy as the five I listed above.
I also snagged these Anna half frame sunnies that feature round mirror tint lenses. These shades also came in clear.
The retro Lucy Metal Bar Rectangle Frames finished my recent shades shopping spree.
Sunglasses can be a luxury item. It’s just not for me. I once bought a pair of designer shades that lasted several years. When screws were loose, I stopped by an optometrist office to get the shades tightened. Any problems, were quickly resolved, until the sunglasses finally cracked in two pieces.
It was at that point that I decided I would not spend big bucks on sunglasses. Ever since then I’ve found inexpensive options to satisfy my constant craving for style and my need to save. I’ve added a few more options for your to choose from below:
