Happy Monday Sweeties!
I had a great weekend away from work celebrating my brother’s 30th birthday. I capped off my work hiatus by watching the 2016 BET Music Awards. There were certainly some magical moments, but nothing as hair raising and as the powerful as the acceptance speech Actor and Activist Jesse Williams delivered when he received the 2016 Humanitarian Award. People, I’m still gathering all of my edges that were snatched while listening to Williams so eloquently speak about the struggles of African Americans and and the need for change in America. He said everything we’ve all felt at one point or another. If you haven’t heard his acceptance speech for BET’s Humanitarian Award, check it out HERE . Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar’s opening performance also gave L-I-F-E! So overall a great ending to a busy, but fulfilled weekend. NOW to my all black look, that I absolutely love!
The Boohoo Bow Front crop top is the focal point. It’s the perfect addition to any look. Throwing on a cute pencil skirt, grab your bow front top. Wearing sleek trousers, add your bow front top. Feeling sassy in shorts, the bow top works here too. Don’t you love a piece like this? It adds value to your closet, because it makes the stock of all your other separates go up.
I teamed my bow front top with Boohoo’s wide leg trousers that you’ve seen here. Originally I wanted to pair the crop top with a hot pink pencil skirt with an exposed black zipper. I should have, but I let my mom talk me into the wide leg pants. And although its cute, in retrospect I think the skirt would have worked better. What do you think?
I added simple black ankle strap heel sandals and finished the look with MAC’s “Flat Out Fabulous” retro matte lipstick.

I’m a sucker for bows and this top is super cute. I’m hoping to wear mine in white with some culottes once I received them. I think wearing them with the wide leg pants gives them a new vibe as the obvious choice of a skirt. I like how you styled it here.

Hey Liza! Thanks for the feedback. I agree the skirt is the obvious choice, but I wasn’t completely sold on the pants. Maybe I made the right decision …lol
Liza , the white culottes sound super cute. Thanks for the feedback and I’m about to check out your blog now!
