Happy New Year Sweeties! I celebrated the new year surrounding by family while sipping glasses of Welch’s white grape juice and creating vision boards for 2016. Glue, scissors, and a couple of kiddies running around required a comfy look. I ditched the sparkle and shine for cotton and converse. Not a bad way to ring in 2016.
With the new year comes a list of goals to help create a new you, but we’ve heard it before, New Year’s Resolutions will never last: guilty. Even keeping my fashion promises are tough. We’re only eight days into the new year, I’ve already broken a few of resolutions. But I’m hitting the reset button and vying to making sure it’s the most stylish one yet. Here are five resolutions that will ensure fabulous fashion moments and not fashion faux pas.
1: I Promise To Buy An Adult Handbag
I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I don’t have a nice handbag. I’m talking something classic, durable, and of course, stylish. For the last few years I’ve only purchased trendy clutches or cross-body bags. I want to buy a sleek leather handbag.
2: I Promise To Update My Jewelry Box
I love a statement piece and I have quite a few that are perfect for work , but not much when it comes to weekend wear. I desperately need an upgrade to my jewelry box.
3: I Promise To Play With Prints and Colors
I make this resolution year after year and instead of vibrant hues and fun prints my closest is filled with neutrals. It’s time to change that.?
4: I Promise To Go Bold, or Go Home
Here’s another failed fashion resolutions. I promised to make fearless fashion choices and I did, but not many. I can count maybe a handful of bold fashion moves. I need to up the ante and a few of these pieces will help me get the job done.
5: I Promise To Shop My Closet More
After a quick shopping trip to JC Penny and Target my mom reminded me I had more than enough clothes. She was absolutely right. I spent about $150 last weekend on new wardrobe additions when I already have clothes hanging in my closet with the tags still attached. This year I will check my closet before going out to buy something new and ask myself, “Jamiese do you really need that 5th black tee?”
