With colder weather on the horizon, it’s about time I start shopping for a new winter coat. This maybe one of the biggest purchases of the season, so I need to find the perfect coat. I’m looking for something that is both stylish and functional. There’s no need for me to be fly and I’m freezing my tail off. The coat must keep me warm.
When It comes to picking the perfect coat for me I think two things, trendy or classic? If you want a coat that will transition from winter to winter, avoid styles that are too trendy. A classic single or double-breasted coat will always stand the test of time.
If you’re like me and searching for your next winter coat , this style guide will come in handy.
1. Belted Wrap Coats

Shearling coats are perfect for those brutally cold days. It offers you style, but it’s still functional. The coats are usually worn casually. Most style stars pair their shearling bomber jacket or coat with a pair of skinny jeans and booties. This is one of my favorite winter style options. I have two shearling coats in my closet from my days at Syracuse.
