It’s officially fall and at the top of my to do list is boot shopping. Before you know it Jack Frost will be nipping at your nose.
The hardest part about shopping for fall boots is trying to find a pair that’s functional and fashionable. The struggle to keep it cute during during the winter is real. While I try to search for the perfect pair(s) of boots, the fashion world has been busy! Here’s the latest.
Joan Small for SELF October 2014
Top Model Joan Small has an amazing body. She’s a combination of long legs and small curves. She’s showing off her toned physique on the October cover of Self Magazine. The former Victoria Secret model posed in bold bodysuits by Lisa Marie Fernandez and Lucas High.
She kept her hair simple with a sleek side braid.
Inside, Joan dishes on her workout routine, her diet ( she doesn’t drink alcohol or caffeine and is in bed by 10:30). She also opened up about battling Scoliosis at the age of 14.
Joan on Her Diet and Workout Routine:
“I need to push myself,” she said. I don’t want to be on such a strict diet that I don’t have fun,” she says. “So if I eat sweets, I’ll just put in more of an effort when I go to the gym.”
Joan on Battling Scoliosis:
“The lower half of my spine was inside out,” she says. “I started crying. I couldn’t believe that was inside my body.”
She quickly talked herself down. “I said, ‘I’m not going to use this as a handicap. I’m going to push myself harder.'” She threw herself into rehabilitation exercises and stretches. To boost her strength, she took up boxing at 17. “People might think that because I’m skinny and tall, I’m fragile,” she says. “But I always knew I wasn’t. And it’s comforting to know that I can throw a proper punch if I have to.”

Baby North West Takes On Paris Fashion Week
North West is only 15 months but she’s already enjoying her first Paris Fashion Week. Nori had the best seat in the house at the Balenciaga fashion show.
It was a family affair for the Kardashian-West clan. North was planted in her mom’s Kim lap, while daddy Kanye was just a seat away.
It also looks like Kanye may have been in charge of North’s look of the day. The adorable tot was dressed in a Yeezus shirt, Timberlands, and diamond earrings.But Kim’s said North’s first front row appearance wasn’t planned. She told Yahoo Style that, “she started to cry when we were walking out the door, and we couldn’t leave her. So, it was a spur-of-the-moment thing. But it was an amazing fashion show for her to be at for her first show.”

Paula Patton Named New Ambassador for Ellen Tracy
Ellen Tracy is Celebrating its 65th year in fashion and beauty. To cap off more than six decades of success, the brand has announced actress Paula Patton as its new spokesperson.
As the new brand ambassador, Paula will begin making appearances as early as November. The campaign will extend through 2015.
Paula told WWD, that Ellen Tracy was a natural partnership.”“The clothes are timeless, flattering and wearable from morning to night. I am also very proud that as part of my work with Ellen Tracy, I will be able to highlight and bring much deserved and necessary attention to women of all backgrounds who shape the world every day.”

Kanye West Is A Fashion Instructor
Despite creating one of my favorite albums, ” College Dropout,” Kanye West is actually now at the head of the class.
Mr. West is serving out his community service requirement following the 2013 paparazzi fight.
Kanye started teaching at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College this week and he’s about his business . Check out the dry erase board. It appears he’s already assigned presentations.
Of the possible ways to carry out his 250 hours of community service this may be the coolest way. What are your thoughts on Kanye teaching the youth of the future? [Vulture/Instagram]
First Lady Michelle Obama to Host Fashion Workshop Event
First Lady Michelle Obama is proving once again she’s the ” First Lady of Fab.” She’s flexing her fashion muscles and is doing something that’s never been done before. She’s bringing fashion to the White House.
Next month Lady O will host the White House’s first ever Fashion Education Workshop that will include industry insiders as well as college and high school students interested in the fashion world.
Coming to the event are some of Mrs. Obama’s fashion forward friends, which according to WWD includes Maria Cornejo , Reed Krakoff , and Bibhu Mohapatra.
I’m sure Tracey Reese and Jason Wu will also been in attendance. The First Lady made Wu a household name when she wore his gowns to both presidential inaugural balls.
And how could we forget Michelle’s red and black floral Tracey Reese dress she wore at the “Let Freedom Ring” ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington or that custom made pink dress Tracey Reese created for her at the Democratic National Convention. Gorg!
I think this is a wonderful opportunity for a student excited about taking on the fashion world. It’s their chance to talk with fashion professional and the First Lady of the United States. It doesn’t get any better than that! I wonder if I can enroll? [Fashionista]
Alicia Keys Bares Belly for World Peace
It’s no secret Alicia Keys is an advocate for world peace , but the songstress has taken it a step forward .
The mommy-to-be posted a nude photo to Instagram on Saturday where she showed off her baby bump painted with a white peace sign. She’s posing with both hands over her breast, with her infamous braids swept to the side.
With the picture Alicia included this caption,” “It’s you and me on a mission to create a kinder and more peaceful world,” she wrote. “The #WeAreHere Movement begins today.”

Sweeties, how many tubes of red lipsticks did you buy, before you found the perfect shade? I’ve bought many over the years in search of finding the shade of red that matches my skin and hair color. I took me forever to find the perfect red for my pout, but things will be easier for you thanks to L’Oreal Paris’ latest beauty launch.
L’Oreal ambassadors including Zoe Saldana, Eva Longoria, Blake Lively and Liya Kebede are starring in the beauty brand’ s bold red lipstick campaign, Collection Exclusive Pure Reds .
In the ads the ladies are all dressed in white and sporting a red lip, but each woman is wearing a different shade of red. The idea is each shade matches your skin tone perfectly.
Each tube of lipstick is named after the ladies featured in the ad, to help you find the shade that matches closely to you.
For example, Blake Lively’s shade of red would work great for you if you have a paler skin tone and blonde hair. Eva Longoria’s color of red would probably match great with someone who has olive or warmer undertone.

Karlie Kloss Named New Face of L’Oreal Paris
L’Oreal may need to include another shade of red for the newest face of the brand. Karlie Kloss has joined the L’Oreal Paris Family and she’s wasting no time getting to work.
The Victoria Secret Model has shot her first ad for the French beauty brand. Landing this role was a dream come true for the 22 year old. She told Style.com it was one of many goals she hoped to achieve.
“It’s a dream,” said Kloss. “I’ve had the privilege of working for the past seven years, and if I’m totally honest, toward this.” “On my list I had a number of things… L’Oréal, American Vogue, and Victoria’s Secret.”
She now joins the ranks of supermodels like Cindy Crawford, Eva Longoria, Beyonce, and Blake Lively who have nabbed the same honor to rep the beauty giant. [Style]
