Happy Hump Day!
Sweeties can you believe it’s June already? My goodness, this year is flying by. I’m so happy the weather is finally nice. I’ve been sporting dresses and sandals like it’s nobody’s business. Oh lets’s not forget the countdown is on for my 30th birthday. I’ll be 30 is just a few weeks. Never mind the fact I don’t have a dress for the night time festivities or a cute look for the family barbecue my folks are planning.
While I sort through my wardrobe dilemma, get into the latest in the fashion and entertainment world.
“Think Like A Man Too” Cast Covers Essence Magazine’s July 2014 Issue
Both the men and women of the ” Think Like a Man Too” are bringing the heat for their Essence cover shoots. The cast are covering the magazine’s double July issue.
The cover features the film’s producer Will Packer, along with male co-stars Terrence J., Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy, and Romany Malco.
For the women the beautiful Gabrielle Union, Taraji P. Henson, Regina Hall, Meagan Good and Lala Anthony are gracing the cover.

Jennifer Lopez Brings Back Infamous Versace Dress
Do you remember the sexy Versace gown Jennifer Lopez wore at the 2000 Grammy Awards? I mean, how could you forget? The plunging neckline and all of its sheer glory sent jaws dropping and had both men and women drooling.
The infamous dress made another appearance this week when Jenny hit the stage for her first-ever hometown concert in the Bronx.
Typically a dress that special should be a one time thing, but I can say it was better the second time around.
The 2014 version of the iconic Versace dress features a leotard underneath to provide more coverage and its styled with a gold safety pin belt and three safety pin closures. The flowy skirt even tears away.

Pharrell Williams’ Elle U.K. Cover Cause Controversy
Pharrell Williams traded in one headpiece for another but his new look has some people up in arms.
For the special edition of Elle U.K.‘s July 2014 issue, the “Girl” singer ditched his Vivienne Westwood Buffalo hat for a traditional Native American headdress. Images from Pharrell’s covershoot caused a firestorm on twitter with many taking to the social network to vent their frustrations.
The “Happy” singer responded to the controversial cover shot. He told E! News: “I respect and honor every kind of race, background and culture. I am genuinely sorry.”

Beyonce Donates $500,00
Tuesday night Beyonce joined forces with the other founders of Gucci’s Chime for Change for the organization’s one year anniversary.
Beyonce, Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini and Salma Hayek created Chime for Change to promote women and girls around the globe in the areas of health, education and justice.
Tuesday night’s anniversary event was held at Gucci Fifth Avenue in New York City so it was only fitting the ” XO ” singer was dressed in Gucci. Beyonce shined for the occasion in a figure flattering white jumpsuit. The halter neck one piece also features a plunging neckline.
Beyonce also ditched her long blonde braids for cascading curls. Also on hand was Solange who stunned in an orange silk blouse and cream colored wide -leg pants. I’m all about this Diana Ross inspired hair.
The Knowles sisters definitely know how to make a statement.
Also on hand was Gucci’s brand ambassador, Blake Lively who styled in a drop waist mustard Gucci shirt dress from the designer’s Fall 2014 collection.
The night ended with a personal donation from Beyonce. The “Drunk in Love” songstress donated $500,000 to the cause.
According to a press release issued by Gucci, $125, 000 will go to support 100 school girls at Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) schools in Kenya for one year.
Another $125, 000 will be used to provide 320 Embrace infant warmers to 100 rural health facilities in 11 Millennium Village sites across 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
$125,000 will support 600 Sisters in Strength Youth Leaders and Alumni in New York City with critical educational and mentoring support, job training, counseling services, and resources they need to successfully navigate and graduate from high school and college through Girls for Gender Equity.
The remaining $125,000 will provide 25 human trafficking survivors in Los Angeles with counseling, medical care, legal services, and individual recovery treatment to rebuild their lives through the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST).

Rihanna Named CFDA Fashion Icon of the Year
Rihanna shut it all the way down Monday night at the CFDA Awards. When I say shut it down, I mean she murdered the red carpet.
The CFDA Icon winner channeled the legendary jazz singer Josephine Baker in a Swarovski Crystal embellished gown. She took shine bright like a diamond to a new level.
The see-through number designed by her long time stylist, Adam Selman, was encrusted with over 216,000 crystals. She teamed her stunning dress with an encrusted head wrap and soft pink fur stole.
Of course Rih’s sexy dress caused quite the stir. The see through number exposed her nipples. I wasn’t bothered one bit and it seemed Rih was also #TeamUnbothered.
It’s her ability to push the envelope that Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour gushed about when she presented Rihanna with her Icon Award. “The point is to be audacious, even jaw-dropping or button-pushing — and yes, we know she enjoys pushing buttons — while remaining true to yourself,” Wintour said.
Upon accepting her award, Rihanna credited fashion for always being her “defense mechanism.”
“I think fashion has been an outlet for me to express myself, to speak up, to say who I am and to be very loud about it at times,” she said. “And I just like to have fun with it.”

If you needed any more proof that Katy Perry is one of the biggest pop stars this year, her Cosmo cover she do the trick. The green-haired songstress is gracing Cosmopolitan first ever global cover wearing a Emilio Pucci Spring 2014 Collection multi-colored sequin dress.
Chelsea Handler interviewed Katy for the magazine cover story, which will cover all 62 editions across the world.
Get this, there are 12 versions of the July cover.
Inside the Katy dished on her love life saying she hasn’t given u on love. And when came to her high profile divorce to Russell Brand and her on and off again relationship with John Mayer, Katy joked and said “I guess I happen to be attracted to high-frequency men.”

The large-scale update includes nine previously unavailable features like the ability to play with contrast, saturation, shadows, brightness, temperature, highlights and sharpness, as well as control the strength of every filter.
I wonder if it has that same filter that was available for Kimye’s wedding photo booth? Didn’t they look flawless?
Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom told TechCrunch that “People come to Instagram today to post their photos but haven’t come back to edit their photos.” These filters give everyone the power of desktop editing suites and photo apps like Camera+ and Photoshop Express for free.

Hairstylist Cuts Braids Out of Child’s Hair When Mom Doesn’t Pay
Here’s a story that’s raising a few eyebrows. A Louisiana hairstylist says she spent nine hours braiding a little girl’s hair and when it seemed the mom wasn’t going to fork over the cash for her services, the stylist took things into her own hands.
Instead of taking a loss, the stylist cut the braids out of the little girl’s hair. She then took to Instagram to vent her frustrations. Along with the above picture she said ,” One thing I don’t play about is my money. I try to be patient with everybody but I will not get played.”
After many of her followers read her the riot act for her actions, the stylist further explained what happened. The stylist says after waiting almost two hours for the mom to pick up the child, the mother said she has a flat tire and directed the stylist to drop the little girl off at the grandmother’s house.
But no one was inside the grandma’s home who could pay her. After feeling like she was getting the runaround the stylist went back to the grandma’s house and summoned the child outside , where she cut the braids out.
“I cut the braids out and went on about my business. At the end of the day, I spent 9 hours away from my kids for nothing. Y’all wasn’t in my shoes or in my position. I have to take care of my three babies and I will do what I have to do to let it be known that I don’t play when it comes to my job or supporting my family.”
