Yes GAWD, we made it to Friday. The week started off great and then Congress couldn’t get their act together and we’re now in the middle of a government shutdown. But that was just the beginning. I covered a story where a 15-year-old was arrested for allegedly shooting a 12-year-old in the mouth. YES, a 12-year-old. We’re also in the middle of a Hurricane Watch. And let’s not forget the shooting near the U.S. Capitol on Thursday. This has been a WILD week to say the least.
After covering such disturbing news this week, I needed to switch things up and cover something lighthearted. Some of the celeb buzz that came out this week definitely qualifies.
Who cares that they’ve only been dating for six month, Big Sean and Naya Rivera know they’re made for each other. And to show you their love is real the two are engaged!
Naya showed off her impressive rock on the red caret of the Latina Magazine’s “Hollywood Hot List” party Thursday night. Get this—the Glee actress and Detroit rapper met on Twitter. I need to get me a social media boo. These two have been inseparable since the start of their romance. Congratulations to the happy couple! (Rap-up.com)
From wedding bells to a baby Carriage, there’s more good news for Hollywood’s young starlets. The oldest Simmons sister is expecting. Vanessa and her long time boyfriend Mike Wayans are expecting a baby girl.
Vanessa told US Magazine that’s she excited about her first child,but admits she was afraid to tell daddy dearest. I mean, he is Rev Run. “I was so nervous telling my dad at first being that I’m not married YET but he was very excited and is supportive 100 percent.”
The parents-to-be haven’t decided on a name yet, but they have time. Their bundle of joy isn’t due until February. Awwww this story is so sweet. Congratulations Vanessa and Mike!!! We’re wishing Vanessa a healthy pregnancy. (US Magazine)
OOH, KILLEM! OOH, KILLEM! Shonda Rhimes wasn’t playing when it came to the Season 3 premiere of Scandal Thursday night. Could they live of to hype of season 2? I believed they did that and more. I’m anticipating how things will unfold over the next few months. I’m definitely interested in learning more about Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) family past. That dirt Cyrus pulled up on Olivia, raised a few eyebrows.
I’m also looking forward to the fabulous fashion moments. From killer suits to drool worthy coats, Olivia Pope SLAYS. Fashion lovers are still gushing over her white Burberry Prorsum Double Duchess Caped Trench Coat from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection. She seen in the coat during an intense scene with Fitz and Mellie in a bunker.
Scandal’s costume designer Lyn Palo told Huffington Post Style that they went back and forth trying to decide whether or not to leave the coat open or wear it closed. Palo said ,”You can see from the body language and how buttoned-up she is, that this is a very difficult moment for her.”
