Happy Monday Sweeties!
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. My weekend was extremely busy. I traveled to Birmingham to visit family. While there, I stopped by the Pepper Place Market, snagged some fabulous finds from the thrift store (post coming later),and spent some much needed quality time with the family. Enough about my weekend though, let’s get to the rundown.
After 16 hours of deliberating a jury made up of six women found George Zimmerman not guilty in the death of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman killed Martin in February 2012. The not guilty verdict created a fire storm on Twitter. Sunday people took to the streets demanding justice. Peaceful rallies were held all over the country including New York and L.A.
In New York Trayvon supporters marched from Union Station to Time Square.
In L.A. protestors blocked the I-10 freeway. The highway didn’t re-open until 7pm Sunday night.
Solange Knowles also held a peaceful rally in Brooklyn.
And Big sister Beyonce held a moment of silence during her Nashville , TN Concert Saturday night.
Halle Berry is a married woman! The beautiful actress tied the knot with her long time beau , Olivier Martinez. The wedding was held at the Chateau des Conde in Valley,France. The couple is expecting her first child together. Congratulations to the two!
Leave it to Mariah Carey to have a bedazzled sling. The “Beautiful” singer dislocated her shoulder on the set of her new video, but that hasn’t stopped MiMi from being fabulous. The song bird was spotted leaving her hotel with a white crystal embellished gown with the matching sling. You betta WERK!
