” Leather wearing in the summertime “
Any time I pull out a leather piece I instantly think of that scene from Waiting to Exhale, where Robin lets Troy have it outside of her apartment balcony. Troy was wearing leather in the dead of summer out in Arizona.
As that scene replays in my head I always ask myself will I look silly in this leather dress? Will you melt and die of heat exhaustion? And for a quick second I rethink my look, but after seeing just how fabulous I look in my leather dress all of the doubt goes out the window. As a certified fashionista, I’ve played with the leather enough times to know that you can still look chic and keep cool in leather during the warmer months.
The key is to pick light weight leather pieces. Go for sleeveless leather options and try light colored leather looks. Pastels are perfect.
I opted for a sleeveless skater dress from Forever 21. The dress is lightly lined with cotton, which eliminates that sticky feel when you start to sweat.
I paired my fit and flare dress with JustFab X People Style Watch heel sandals. For more color I added a pop of red with a quilted cross body bag. For a little fun I added the black cloth choker.
I posed for these pictures just before noon on a hot day and it wasn’t bad at all. No sweating like crazy and I didn’t die or melt.
