Lupita Nyong’o is having quite the year. The Oscar Award winner was just named People Magazine’s “Most Beautiful” Person of 2014. The “12 Years a Slave” star and new Lancôme Paris ambassador told People Magazine, she “never dreamed” she would be touted as “Most Beautiful” for all the world to see.
Lupita said her mother would always tell her she was beautiful and finally one day she believed her. But she contends happiness is the most important thing. She adds the best compliments are when she’s dressed down and make free. “When I have been called beautiful with not one drop of makeup on,” she adds. “And also before I comb my hair or put on a pretty dress. Happiness is the most important thing.”
We couldn’t agree more. Being happy with yourself is the best feeling in the world.
Also included in People Magazine’s “Most Beautiful” issue was Scandal star and mommy-to-be, Kerry Washington.
“Being Mary Jane” star Gabrielle Union also nabbed her a spot on the list.
