Do you remember 90s and early 2000s R&B boy groups? That was some of the best music ever, right? I’ve been saying for the longest I wanted to attend a Jagged Edge, Dru Hill, Jodeci, and 112 concert. I got my wish, kinda.
Saturday
While celebrating my 31st birthday I attended a Jagged Edge and 112 concert. Talk about a blast from the past. “Peaches and Creme,” “Cupid,” “Let’s Get Married,” “Where the Party At,” I heard it all. It was amazing. I danced and sang my heart out.
After a trip down memory lane and a drive up to Buffalo, we headed back to Rochester to party.
We were planning on staying in Buffalo, but “Forgetful Jamiese,” left her entire purse in Rochester. ugh.
By nightfall the celebration was in overload. We danced the night away in Pearl Nightclub on East Avenue.
For the Saturday festivities I wanted a look that would work for the concert and perfect for partying.
I took a chance and wore all white and surprisingly nothing spilled on me.
I rocked a white mini skirt from Forever 21. I teamed my micro mini with a white, slightly cream colored leather bralette from bebe.
I wanted to add some chicness to the look and teamed my look with a cream colored long sleeve sheer draped jacket.
My “Taesha” Leopard print lace up heel sandals from Just Fab punctuated my look!
Fun times indeed. I definitely created a few memories and shared sweet moments with my Rochester beau.
Sunday
After being out all night and on my feet for hours, I still managed to get up and make it to church.
It was important that I give my GOD some of my time. It’s the least I could do after he gave me 31 years of life. Pretty simple, right?
For church I continued the all white theme and teamed my “One Clothing” Sheath dress with my Forever 21 draped jacket.
For a pop of color I added my mint green Just Fab “Paean” ankle strap sandals. My statement necklace also added some color and a pop of pizazz to the classic look.
After church we made it down to the Xerox International Jazz Festival. I ditched the jacket for good and kept it simple.
What was I thinking wearing heels to a Jazz Festival? No pain, no gain, right?
#JDay was turning out to be one I wouldn’t forget. Oh, the fun continued. Stay tuned for my last “Birthday Behavior” installment on Saturday.
