Style Guide: How to Look Fabulous Even in the Rain

When it comes to outfit inspiration comfort,  style and WEATHER are all determining factors. And here lately rain has been in the forecast with even more on the way.  So, typically, if I wake up to rain,  I’m wearing all black or grey. I’m also wearing leggings, a rain coat and boots. But sometimes you need to shine through the rain. A nice pop of color, a fun print and even a pair of heels will do the trick. I recently incorporated all three and dodged the rain drops in style. Are you looking for a way to pop under the grey skies ? I got you. Check out this  latest style inspiration, where I’m showing you how to look great even in the rain.

If you follow me on Instagram, ( you should be @OohLaLaBlog),  then you’ve seen this Nanette Lepore dress before. I featured the dress during one of my many dressing room diary appearances  at T.J. Maxx. I loved this dress because of the floral print,  the pintuck design,  and the rich colors.

I love this pink and burgundy combination. It’s the perfect blend of fall and summer vibes, right?  It’s the perfect colorway to beat the shade that those grey skies and rainy days may bring.

When I tried the dress on in the store I had a vision for the piece then and I tried to bring it to life.  I wanted to team the dress with a tan belt and matching hat and boots. I admit it was a little too matchy-matchy , but still turned out cute. I think it was my JustFab Gypsy Girl Fringe Boots that helped seal the deal.

I finished the look with a popping pink cross body purse.

Here’s why this look works for a rainy day:

I ditched rain boots for knee boots.  The heels are chunky, that helps you navigate the slick sidewalks.

I skipped out on a raincoat , because the long sleeves will keep you covered, especially if you have an umbrella nearby.

Speaking of  umbrellas I skipped the traditional ones like the solid colored shades and tried a fun print.

I also said bye-bye to neutrals and said hello to print. Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean you can’t  be chic.

With more rain on the horizon, I’m sure this post will expand to include more looks.

What’s your go-to rainy day look? Would you consider wearing a flirty dress in a down pour?  Let me know in the comments and tell me if you like this lewk I’m serving.

Fashionably yours,

Jamiese
