When I originally saw this gorgeous pic of Lupita Nyong’o I gushed over her beauty. I was blinded by her radiant smile, but there was something else to be noticed in this picture. Lupita’s skin appears lighter.
Vanity Fair has been accused of lightening Lupita deep brown skin. This has angered her fans and created a fire storm on social media.
When you compare Lupita’s Dazed & Confused magazine cover to this feature in Vanity Fair you can understand their anger.
I attribute Lupita’s lighter skin tone to bright lights. She’s posing in front of a white background, surrounded by white balloons, and she’s wearing a white fringe dress. I think this may be a case of bright lights.
