I love this time of year. The decorations, the Christmas carols and movies. Let’s not forget the countless parties and I’ve already made my way to few. This weekend I stopped by an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. My college friend held a “Jingle Mingle” Party , where guests were asked to bring a gift for a a family who was less fortunate. Don’t you love a party with purpose? I picked up a few goodies for the kids and moseyed on down to the party. Continue Reading »

Thursday, December 15, 2016 · No Comments

The secret is out. I love thrifting! I make weekly stops to area thrift stores and I jokingly made the hashtag #iCanTeachYouHowToThrift. It’s kind of serious. But it wasn’t always that way. Sometimes it was hard for me to see the bigger picture or the beauty in a piece. Continue Reading »

Style Files: Wear Leather to the Office Like a Fashion Pro with Target’s Who What Wear Collection

I’ve been waiting on consistent cold weather, like a kid waits for Christmas. We’ve had a few cool days, but two days later it’s back in the high 60’s or low 70’s. I’m not really complaining , but it would be great to experience winter like weather for at least a month. Because this weather changes like the wind, I haven’t put away some of my summer clothes. I haven’t technically unloaded my cold weather items either. Not to mention, figuring out what to wear is a headache. I’m talking drama-filled, especially when it comes to work. Continue Reading »

Life+Styles: Celebrating My 10 Year Class Reunion at Tuskegee University

Tuesday, November 1, 2016 · No Comments

It was almost two weeks ago, but I’m still reliving Tuskegee University’s Homecoming.  I celebrated my 10 year class reunion. It was such an awesome experience to go back to a place I called home for many years. Mother Tuskegee is so dear to my heart. The memories are unforgettable , the experience is invaluable , and the education is unmatched.  My time at Tuskegee really laid the foundation of my adult life and I’m grateful for every bit of it. Check out some of the new memories I created on my recent trip to Tuskegee, AL as I celebrated Tuskegee University’s 2016  Homecoming. #TUHC16 Continue Reading »

It’s Wednesday and I’m still in recovery mode after experiencing the best homecoming ever. I celebrated by 10 year class reunion at Tuskegee University over the weekend and I’m still paying for it.  I plan to give a complete recap really soon. In the meantime let’s talk work wear as I’m holding on by a thread this work week. Typically I stay away from all black looks because the color doesn’t show well on television, but from time to time I’ll inject the dark hue into my newsroom look. Here are two recent occasions where I slayed in all black at the work place.  Continue Reading »

It’s no secret, I love a sale. I really love deals and discounts. It excites me on a level that should probably be questioned. So imagine the foolery that went down when I walked into Sears, YES SEAR’S . The department store was having the largest sale ever. I literally lost my mind and almost all of my money. The deals were too sweet to walk away from. I’m talking dresses for as low as $3.99. I ended up trying on two baskets full of pieces, but I only walked out with five dresses on my first trip (yes, there was a 2nd trip). The best part is each dress is work-ready and office approved. I’ve already worn three of my fab finds so let’s take a look at each one starting with my favorite .
