Kim Kardashian is known for her voluminous curls and flowy locks and I LOVE it!!! Kim’s hairstyle has inspired many women to try and create the look themselves, and I am one of them.  I created a D.I.Y. Video on how to achieve Kim Kardashian’s curls with just a simple curling iron. Now mind you, I’m wearing a sew-in. I’m wearing a 14 inch Bobbi Boss Indi Remi Natural Yaky hair.   Enjoy the video!

This blinding shade of yellow is perfect color to decorate your nails and toes with this summer. This color is called ” Neon Yellow” and it’s from the American Apparel neon nail polish collection. I fell in love with this bright shade of yellow the minute I saw Kimora Lee Simmons sporting the polish. For a bottle of this  neon yellow nail polish it will cost you $6 dollars. It’s available at American Apparel stores or online.

A couple of days ago, I took to facebook, to rant about my difficulties finding a PROFESSIONAL hair stylist. I stress the word professional because in my search, I’ve ran into hair stylist who are not professional. I need an individual who loves styling and growing hair, an individual who wants to make their client a top priority. I recently ran into this problem when I moved from my hometown, where there is a plethora of AWESOME and PROFESSIONAL stylist.

Have your favorite lip gloss ever been discontinued? I know I’ve experienced this before, several of my lip glosses were discontinued or limited edition. All I was left with was an empty tube and trying to find a look a like gloss. It was an experience like this one that made Latoya Ausley, launch Preppy  Gyrl & Co.

Preppy Gyrl is a lip gloss salon in Chicago, IL that’s helping women recreate their favorite lip glosses or create an  entire new color. At Preppy GyrL & Co. you make your own lip gloss from scratch. Your color is saved and as it says on the website it will never be discounted. The tube is $15.  It’s made from all natural ingredients. Some of the glosses are based with natural ingredients like Shea Butter.

So if you’re in the Chicago, IL area check out Preppy Gyrl & Co. at 9507 S. Wood St., Chicago, IL 60643.

You can also call to set up make up parties for a large group . It seems like the entire experience would be tons of fun. If I’m ever in the area I will definitely stop by.

In the mean while, check out Preppy Gyrl & Co. website, TWITTER page, and their FACEBOOK page to find out more about this high end lip gloss salon!

Nail Polish Review: Sally Hansen Salon Effects (UPDATE)

A few weeks ago I did a small review on Sally Hansen Salon Effecst Real Nail Polish Strips here on Ooh La La Blog . Well I’m back to tell you that the strips lasted  more then the ten days advertised on the box. I actually went back and tried another pattern. Both designs held up for a very long time without peeling or chipping.  I knew the polish strips were the BOMB.com, when I went to the nail shop to get my eye brows waxed and they complimented me on my nails. They wanted to know who did my nails and where was the shop located. They were really surprised when I told them I did my own nails. SO WHOOMP THERE IT IS! I would definitely suggest  Sally Hansen Salon Effects to women who aren’t afraid to do their own nails, and even if you are, give it a shot.  It’s simple and only takes a few minutes. There’s no drying time either so that’s always a plus. All you do is  peel, press, and go!  It’s simple and well worth the $8.50 at Wal Mart or the $9.99 at Walgreens and Ulta.

Here’s a few picks from my nails. Please forgive my polish technique, I kinda went outside the lines!

I used Sally Hansen Salon Effects in #240. It’s called “Check It Out”. I also used Pure Ice, # 303CP. It’s called ” Free Spirit”

I used Sally Hansen Salon Effects in #320. It’s called ” Kitty, Kitty” I also used NYC nail polish in #1313A. It’s called ” Big Apple Red ”

I used Salon Hansen Salon Effects in #320. It’s  called ” Kitty, Kitty”.  I also used Orly nail polish in #40294. It’s called ” Luxe” . I used  Sephora by OPI top coat. It’s called ” Only Gold For Me”.

On the last set of pictures, the real nail polish strips were on week number two and lasted another week after that. Any questions, just ask in the comment section and I will answer them for you.

Who knew eye shadow and hair could make a HAUTE creation.  On Tuesday, Wendy Williams reported on a new trend hitting the streets on her talk show. In L’Wren Scott’s presentation and Chanel  Spring 2011 show models graced the runway with pops of colors in their side part.   WMagazine.com reported that make-up artist used eye shadow brushes, eye shadow, and water to make the vibrant color show up.  Do you think this trend will be one that catches on?  I love it and I plan on trying it.  I think in order  for this to work the part Must be a side part. The hair Must have a sleek and polished look to it, like the model above.  Check out the pictures below and tell us if you’re feeling this trend.
