The 5Th annual Black Girls Rock! Awards show took place last night in the Bronx.  It was a night to celebrate Black women and their achievements. Some of the honorees were Raven-Symone, Missy Elliot, Ruby Dee, and Keke Palmer. This event brought out some of the hottest celebrities and these beautiful women brought their A- game in the dress department.  Keyshia Cole, Shonetlle, and Keri Hilson were among the performers. These ladies shoes were HOTTTT!! Check em out.

Keyshia Cole was wearing the L’ Wren Scott cut-out  over-the -knee boots we told you about last month. You can get these boots at Barneys. The price tag $2,635.00.

Ms. Keri Baby rocked these Giuseppe Zanotti embellished bootie. This shoe was apart of the 2009 Giuseppe Zanotti’s Holiday collection. These bedazzled shoes were a one of a kind, because it was a limited edition with only 100 allegedly being sold in the US.  Beyonce, Cassie, and Keri Hilson were amoung the lucky 100.

Although these shoes are gone Giuseppe Zanotti has a similar shoe.

Shontelle rocked these Christian Louboutin Flannel Over-The-Knee Boot. I especially love these shoes becuase it’s in one of my favorite colors of the season.

You can get these over-the- knee boots at Neiman Marcus for $1595.00

Nike should give this guy an endorsement deal PRONTO! When it comes to Air Max and retro J’s he has at least three pair of EACH! The Real Hip Hop daily co-founder, Drew Sanders isn’t bragging about all he has, matter of fact he’s paying it forward. He recently donated an extensive amount of his shoe collection to the less fortunate. For his generous spirit and his fresher then fresh style, Ooh La La Blog chose Drew Sanders as our Friday Fly Philosophy Feature.

Drew is another guy who’s adopted the less is more style, never trying too hard to match. He does it effortlessly, in a simple tee, a crisp pair of Levis 511 jeans, and some fresh kicks. Just like the wind he can change his mind and mood, which allows him to express his style in a different way. We can even catch the Fly Nation Movement founder looking a bit more polished and pristine with a nice button down, a classic sweater, and boots.

This New York native loves to shop at Barney’s Co-op. He says, “If I was a mannequin, I would be in the window of that store. I will go broke in that place.”  Since his recent move to Atlanta, Drew has been spending his cash in ATL’s fashion hot spots like Standard and Wish.

The future entertainment mogul says remember the name, but don’t think you’ll see it on his belt though. He hates to see those things coming, along with dirty shoes, and those baggy t-shirts Dem Franchize Boyz talked about.

There’s two things we love here at Ooh La La Blog, and that’s a person’s grind and style. Drew Sanders has both. Ooh La La Blog salutes you.

“Just got paid, Friday night!” While these are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs, it’s the reality for most of our readers. So how will you be spending your Friday Night? Are you party hopping at some of the city’s hottest night spots or having a romantic dinner with your beau? Whatever  your choice is, you have to be fly while doing it. Remember the song goes on to say “Check the mirror, looking fly.”  With the help of Ooh La La that’s exactly how you will look. Check out these cute cocktail dresses for our curvaceous fashionistas!

I know what you’re saying, and yes these dresses are a bit expensive. But indulge in these sweet pieces for goodness sake! Don’t fret, I’ve included more dresses that’s more friendly to our budget. Check it out below.

Detroit has style that’s no secret, but will it become a fashion powerhouse?  With the third major fashion event this year well on it’s way, the city is heading in the right direction. That’s a great move for the city, but are Detroiters ready to switch gears and go from the automotive action to a fashion haven? Absolutely!  Detroit is a city that breeds innovative and fashion forward individuals. In this city you have to dress nice, no exceptions! So it’s only befitting that Joe Faris, former Project Runway contestant and Michigan native created Fashion In Detroit, the next major Fashion event scheduled in the city.

Fashion In Detroit was created to showcase the city as well as provide an outlet for talented designers living here. FID (Fashion In Detroit) is a bi-annual two day fashion extravaganza and in exactly one week you will play witness to its second annual premiere fashion show.

On October 22nd and 23rd Detroit will transform from the Motor city to the Fashion City, with FID as the catalyst for the change. The gritty back drop will vanish and glitz, glamour, and ostentatious flair will emerge.  The event will be held at the ubberly posh Motor City Casino. The two day event will include 12 runways shows from local and national designers. There’s also two scheduled trunk shows, one on each day. This will give you a chance to meet and greet some of your favorite designers and celebrities.

In addition to all of the Haute Couture action that will be running rapid in the Motor City Casino, there’s also luxury giveaways! FID will conclude with an Afterglow party that evening from 8PM to 2AM!  This is surely an event you don’t want to miss. In addition to being the place to be next weekend, FID will help put Detroit one step closer to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry!
